Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, has promised that he would not do anything that will bring shame to him and the state during his second term, pledging that he will do more and better work for the state.

Uzodimma made the promise, yesterday, when he addressed his kinsmen and people of Imo West Senatorial District (Orlu Zone), who had gathered to felicitate with him on his victory during the November 11 governorship poll in the state.

The governor hails from Omuma, Oru East Council in Imo West Senatorial District.

He also promised to develop the zone more in the next four years.
He said: “I am happy with the overwhelming support I got at the polls. That is a practical demonstration of what I can call universal acceptance.

“I will not only do more, I will do better. I want to leave here as somebody who came from the Orlu Zone to serve and bring dignity and honour to my people. I will not bring shame and disgrace to you.”

Meanwhile, the governor has called for the establishment of a 10MW Hydro-Power Plant in Imo State to facilitate hitch-free supply of portable water for the residents.

The Governor made the call on Tuesday night when he received in audience the Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, Joseph Teriumun, and his team, who paid him a courtesy call at Government House, Owerri.

Uzodimma told the minister the 10MW hydropower plant would help to solve the problems of portable water shortage. He also sought the minister’s intervention in completing some of the ongoing water projects in Imo within the year or early next year.
